The Psoas Muscle

T.R.E.® targets a release of this key muscle - also called the fight/flight/freeze muscle. When you experience stress or trauma, the psoas responds by tightening.  It can remain in this state, which can cause problems from back pain to poor digestion to exhaustion. Through release of the psoas muscle, T.R.E.® restores the nervous system to a calm, relaxed state.

RELEASE through Movement

Okay, I get that this may sound different! :)  But that's because we've been culturally "trained" to suppress what is naturally occurring in our bodies. Chattering teeth, shaking hands, butterflies in the stomach, knees knocking... these are all ways the brain, body and nervous system are trying to release toxic stress. T.R.E.® gives the body a way to release that stored up stress that never got released - even stress from years ago that is affecting your body and emotions today, but you may not know it!

People describe the movements like "shivering".  It's similar to the movement that is created by electro-stim therapy: a gentle, repetitive contraction-and-release of the muscles.

The first few sessions, the contraction-and-release movement may stay in the legs.  Then it may move to the upper body and extremities.  Everyone's experience is different!

The key is... this is a safe, fun and relaxing process, and you are completely in control the entire time.
